About

UIBubbles is an early draft. It began as a recorded product idea and a founder's brief, and this site is its first public scaffold.

Why

Facebook and VK apps showed that third-party apps can call host APIs, such as a friend picker, without seeing everything. UIBubbles keeps that model but lets other extensions, not only the host, provide those APIs, with the host brokering each call and the user's gesture acting as the grant.

Who

The idea comes from the team building the Sneat family chat, which is the first host in development. The project is meant to stand apart from any one product. Outside people and organisations are welcome to get involved through the GitHub repository.

Status

There is a draft manifest schema, draft docs and this site. There is no released runtime, no security audit and no conformance suite. Governance of a public standard is undecided, and this site will not claim otherwise until it is decided.

Licence

Provisionally, code is Apache-2.0 and documentation and specification text are CC-BY-4.0. This may change before a public release.
